I have a passion for animals and have made it my mission to educate the community on animal welfare. I enjoy spending time with my animals, my family and my friends. I work as the Family Services Specialist Coordinator for Shenandoah County. Please always consider adopting or fostering…it really does save lives!!
Lanette Orduna, Vice President
Owns Posh Pets Boutique in Winchester, VA Has been involved with Dakota’s Dream Animal Rescue for almost 7 years now, fostering, hosting rescue events and fund raisers for the rescue as well as providing storage and meeting space. Posh Pets Boutique also hosts kittens available for adoption. Previous to joining DDAR, Lanette volunteered with Briggs Animal Adoption Center and Loudoun Habitat for Humanity. She is a veteran of the toy industry having spent over 30 years in sales, marketing and product design working with all the major toy manufacturers. She has been involved with animal welfare since 2000!
Stephanie Brooks, CPA, Treasurer
Stephanie has been active in animal welfare since 2007 when she began working at PetSmart during her senior year. In addition to her role for Dakota’s Dream, she is a volunteer for the Winchester SPCA, where she has also served on the Board of Directors. She has three furry siblings (all rescued), two dogs –Rainie and Windie, and a cat—Stormie who live with her family and her own fur baby, Freddie, who adopted her. She is an avid volleyball player and travels almost every weekend so most of her work is behind the scenes.
Ken Herron, Cat Rescue Response Coordinator
Ken is our resident cat wrangler. He is a feral cat expert trapper and has fostered many a cat and transformed them from a wild animal to a loving tender cat.
